WINE

World-class wines, traditional local ales, including our very own Talbot Ale, and classic cocktails can be enjoyed at the Pub. Our beers are supplied by local breweries, gin from local distilleries and wine from our very own wine merchant: The Beckford Bottle Shop, located just twenty minutes from the pub in the beautiful city of Bath. The Shop has a list of over two hundred and fifty wines from around the world and a curated selection of craft beers, craft ciders and spirits.

DINE

Our relaxed pub is the perfect environment for long lunches, sumptuous suppers and extends into our sun-filled courtyard and gardens throughout the warmer months. Our talented cooks are committed to utilising the abundance of seasonal produce surrounding The Talbot. Meat and game from local farms, fish from the Cornwall coast and fresh leaves picked just a few steps away in The Talbot Kitchen Garden. On weekends the doors to The Talbot Grill open for traditional British food and Sunday Lunches cooked over the wood-fired grill, just as country inns would have hundreds of years ago. For those looking for something a little lighter after a walk in the country, the bar is also kept well-stocked with delicious snacks that are available throughout the day.

Private Dining

The Talbot Inn is the perfect rural escape for get-togethers, long lunches, meetings and celebrations. The Sitting Room, a cosy room with a log burning stove, can seat up to twelve diners for intimate celebrations. The Grill, which is the largest room at The Talbot, seats up to forty-eight diners and is available selected weekdays. We work closely with you to curate menus to suit your occasion: think succulent, locally reared ribs of beef cooked over the wood-fired grill, family-style fish pie and inventive plant-based dishes.

Castlemead Poultry

Stuart and the team at Castlemead have been farming for three generations. Producing the finest hand-reared poultry, we are lucky to have them just a short drive from The Talbot. The birds themselves are free to roam the Somerset countryside, enjoying a varied and high protein diet which improves the quality and taste of the meat whilst maintaining the welfare of the animals.
“We believe in the values which have been handed down through generations of family farms which we think helps produce healthy poultry & game that tastes delicious.”
Stuart Perkins / Farmer
